Operating during school terms, Playtime is a community initiative run by church members on Friday mornings between 10am and 12pm. It caters for little ones from birth to pre-school and offers a fun, friendly and safe place for parents, grandparents and carers to come with their children. Families enjoy a varied and stimulating educational program that includes free play, games, stories, singing and craft. It’s also a time when adults can meet other adults build friendships and develop an encouraging support network within the area. The first visit is free, and thereafter for a single child family the weekly contribution is one piece of fruit plus $3 a week or $20 up front for the term. For families with more than one child in same family, the weekly contribution is one piece of fruit per child plus $5 per family weekly or $40 up front for the term.
Girl’s Brigade Australia is part of a worldwide Christian movement that has partnered with churches for over 120 years. Their mission is seeing girls’ lives transformed and God’s world enriched and their aim is to help girls and leaders seek, serve and follow Christ. Operating during school terms, the East Hills Girl’s Brigade Company meets on a Tuesday evening between 6:30pm and 8:15pm, and is open to girls from Kindergarten and above. The program centres around the social, educational, physical and spiritual aspects of girl’s lives, learning new skills and enjoying fun and friendship.
