We offer age-appropriate Sunday Kids programs for children in Pre-school up to Year 5 during our Sunday morning service. After an initial worship time with everyone together in the sanctuary, the children move into their respective groups which run during the remainder of the service. The program offers a fun time of learning about God in different ways tailored for each age group.

Sunday Kids is run by a team of experienced, passionate and enthusiastic volunteer teachers and helpers who all have a Working With Children Check and have undergone Creating Safe Spaces training. They delight in seeing children grow and develop in their knowledge and understanding of how precious they are to their heavenly Father. This nurturing environment has seen children grow in confidence, develop strong friendships and know that they are valued members of the church family. In 2018, EHBC was very blessed and proud to celebrate 70 years of offering quality biblical teaching to generations of children through our Sunday children’s programs.

Discoverers (18 months - 4 years old) This group caters for young children with a stimulating program that includes singing, craft, memory verses and stories based on the Bible, as well as a light morning tea and some free play. The class is small, so your child will be well cared for and receive the attention they need from a team of helpers. The program focuses on helping little ones discover God using simple books, easy to remember actions and fun music. They are also introduced to the concept of prayer.

Investigators (Kindergarten - Year 2) In this group the children are encouraged to start investigating the Bible through story, song and craft. They engage in discussion about the different topics being taught and provide prayer points to be included in their prayer time

Explorers (Years 3-5) This group encourages children to start exploring God for themselves. Their time together is filled with thought-provoking games, bible reading and a craft or activity that reinforces the message of the lesson. It is here that they start to discover the connection between various events in the Bible and God’s promises, as well as why these things are still relevant to them. The children in this class are also encouraged to start becoming more connected within the life of the church, through opportunities to serve on the Welcome Team and be paired up with a mature Christian adult as a Prayer Buddy.
