COVID-19 UPDATE With the restrictions due to COVID-19, East Hills Youth is going online! We’ll be running our youth group through Zoom video conferencing software each Friday from 7:30pm, and anyone in Years 6-12 can join. We have a great program lined up for this term, with a bunch of fun games and activities, opportunities to connect with friends, and an encouraging short message each week. Details about how to join the Zoom meeting are available at: (www.zmurl.com/easthillsyouth). THE BASICS East Hills Youth runs on Friday nights during school terms from 7:00-8:30pm, and is for anyone in Years 6-12! It’s $3 per night, but your first time is free. THE NIGHTS On Fridays we have fun games and activities, hangout time, great food, a short talk and time to pray together.
THE BASICS In addition to meeting on Friday nights, we also run a program during our church service on Sundays for Years 6-10, from 9:30 till about 11am (in school terms). We start off in the service for the opening worship and announcements, and then go out to our newly furnished Youth Room. THE PROGRAM At Sunday Youth we spend time hanging out, playing games and going through a bible study that explores relevant topics through discussion, videos and worksheets. At the end we pray together as well. In Term 1 and Term 2 we’ll be using the Alpha Youth Series, which looks at the basics of Christianity in a fun and engaging way! Some Sundays we’ll also hang out after the service and do extra things to keep building up our community!
We believe that Young Adults, those in the life stage between leaving high school and into their 30’s, are a vital part of a growing, healthy church. Young Adults at East Hills currently meet informally to hang out and participate in Growth Groups with other members of the church. Eventually we hope to form a more regular Young Adults ministry, including a specific Growth Group for them. Additionally, we have the goal of starting a Sunday night church service in the future which will be more relaxed, contemporary and designed for this age group. Girl’s Brigade Australia is part of a worldwide Christian movement that has partnered with churches for over 120 years. Their mission is seeing girls’ lives transformed and God’s world enriched and their aim is to help girls and leaders seek, serve and follow Christ. Operating during school terms, the East Hills Girl’s Brigade Company meets on a Tuesday evening between 6:30pm and 8:15pm, and is open to girls from Kindergarten and above. The program centres around the social, educational, physical and spiritual aspects of girl’s lives, learning new skills and enjoying fun and friendship.
